- Check the cylinder liner projection. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Cylinder Liner Projection - Inspect".

Illustration 1 g01011451 - Apply Tooling (D) to the O-ring seal. Install O-ring seal (2) in the machined groove on cylinder liner (1).
- Lubricate the lower portion of the cylinder liner with clean engine oil. Ensure that the corresponding crankshaft throw is at BOTTOM CENTER. Position the cylinder liner in the cylinder block. Use Tooling (C) to press the cylinder liner in place.
End By:
- Install the pistons and the connecting rods. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pistons and Connecting Rods - Install".
