July 2002 CHANGE OF CORE ACCEPTANCE FOR C10 ENGINES Program AVSpare announces a change to the core acceptance guidelines for C10 engines. Effective July 1, 2002, full credit core upgrade charges are as follows:
Upgrade charges will not be assessed in situations where damaged core charges are applicable. Normal core deposit transactions will apply. Example If a C12 engine is ordered and a full credit C10 engine
is returned, the $750 upgrade charge is assessed on the C10 core as
follows: Show/hide table
However, if the returned C10 core is damaged and qualifies for only partial credit, normal core refund transactions will be processed and the damaged core charge will supersede the upgrade charge. Show/hide table
Like Damaged Core Charges, Upgrade Charges represent the replacement value of parts required to build a product when components from the returned core cannot be used. Upgrade charges help to maintain a viable remanufacturing program that provides high quality and readily available products for the customer. In turn, the customer enjoys the performance, economy, and many other benefits of AVSpare engines that incorporate the latest critical engineering changes applicable. Core Acceptance All engines returned as cores must meet the core acceptance guidelines identified in ?Core Acceptance Criteria?, SELD0019 and ?Core Inspection Checklist?, SELD0020. Core Management Please refer to the AVSpare? Core Management Information System (CMIS 2) Parts Information application describing all reman part/CAF and related information. Also refer to other CMIS 2 inquiry applications such as Customer Profiles, Inspection Reason Codes, Inspection Line Inquiry, Add Charge Information, Entitlement Activity, Entitlement Inquiry, CCR Inquiry, CCR Entry, Shipment Processing; Process Packaging Grief; and Reporting to properly manage core returns and monitor inspection performance. This information will be available to all dealers worldwide after your CMIS 2 conversion date. In the meantime, please continue to use the current CMIS Entitlement Parts Inquiry Screen describing the list of parts in a Core Acceptability Family (CAF) and related part number detail.
